Meet the Head Coach
Coach Avery has nearly 20 years of elite coaching experience in the U.S., including leadership roles with the University of Kentucky, Kentucky Aquatics, Lakeside Seahawks, and the Puerto Rican National Team. Over his career, he has developed numerous collegiate swimmers, State Champions, record holders, and national-level qualifiers, and has been recognized as a Two-Time National Select Camp Coach.
Drawing on his expertise in physiology and long-term athlete development, Coach Avery created Elevate Academy to focus on long-term swimmer development, helping athletes bridge the gap between summer league swimming and competitive USA Swimming programs. The academy emphasizes skill development, competitive readiness, and a supportive, flexible training environment for swimmers of all levels, with opportunities to compete in AAU one-day meets.

Now living in Switzerland, Coach Avery leads the country’s top age-group program, bringing his extensive experience and proven track record to help swimmers grow, excel, and enjoy the sport.
Group Descriptions
7-9 Year Olds: Silver Group
Swimmers begin the season will Freestyle & Backstroke mastery, and then progress into Breaststroke & Butterfly. Backed by thorough coaching feedback, swimmers will make steady improvements in all areas!
Pre-Req’s:
Freestyle & Backstroke are a pre-requisite for this group. Swimmers will learn the mechanics of Breaststroke & Butterfly as the season progresses.Â
10 & Older: Gold Group
Our top group will continue along with previous lesson plans as we move into teaching our swimmers “how to train”, with training terminology and a larger emphasis on racing we begin to prepare the swimmers for the future!
Pre-Req’s:
Swimmers will be placed into lanes based upon their ability levels. We do look for a solid grasp of Freestyle & Backstroke for anyone joining the group.
