Get Up & Go's - Facing Away Dead Start
Cues:
- Line athletes up, side by side – determined by how much space that you have
- On the coaches “go”
- The athletes stand up – turn the opposite direction and race to the finish point.
What to look for:
I recommend using a whistle start here to increase their reaction time!
Allow for ample space here. We want them to run at least 15 yards for each burst. We do not want to do this on a wet pool deck. Be sure to find a dry space to run on. Whether it’s in a hallway or outside.
